Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the mixed doubles at Wimbledon due to stiffness in her right wrist. This unfortunate news means that Andy Murray’s Wimbledon career has come to an end. Raducanu, who underwent wrist surgery last year, expressed her disappointment at not being able to play, as she is through to the fourth round of the singles. Murray and Raducanu were scheduled to play their first-round mixed doubles match on No 1 Court.
Meanwhile, on the courts, Alexander Zverev defeated Cameron Norrie in straight sets, showcasing his powerful serving despite his knee injury. Norrie fought valiantly, but could not break Zverev’s serve throughout the match. Additionally, Harriet Dart secured the first set against Wang Xinyu and is on her way to reaching the Wimbledon fourth round for the first time.
The tennis action was intense with players like Jelena Ostapenko and Anna Kalinskaya showcasing their skills on the court. Unfortunately, Jessica Bouzas Maneiro was forced to retire due to injury during her match against Barbora Krejcikova.
The absence of Raducanu from the mixed doubles and Murray’s farewell from Wimbledon have left fans disappointed. Despite the setbacks, the remaining matches promise to deliver thrilling tennis action as players battle it out on the iconic courts of SW19.
