Skowhegan Softball Wins Ugly Game Against Messalonskee

Skowhegan’s softball team secured a 13-7 victory over Messalonskee in a Class A North showdown on Monday. Despite a tough defensive inning with four errors leading to six Eagles runs, the River Hawks managed to pull through with an impressive offensive performance. Skowhegan pounded out 19 hits, with Carlie Jarvais and Maddy Morris leading the charge with multiple hits and RBIs.

The River Hawks scored first in the game, taking an early lead with three hits in the first inning. Skowhegan extended their lead with multiple runs in four separate innings, showcasing their strength at the plate. Lily Noyes pitched a solid game, striking out seven batters and allowing only one earned run.

Despite some errors in the field, Skowhegan maintained their composure and continued to put runs on the board. The team’s chemistry and determination were evident as they worked together to secure the win. This victory marks the team’s second strong performance, following a 15-0 win over Camden Hills in their previous game.

With a majority of players returning from last season’s successful team, Skowhegan looks poised for another strong season. The River Hawks’ ability to overcome challenges and come together as a team bodes well for their future success on the softball field.
