Global Outage Does Not Impact Stock Exchanges


New Delhi stock exchanges and clearing corporations were unaffected by a global Microsoft outage, according to a joint statement released on Saturday. Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu announced that airline systems which were impacted by the IT outage on Friday were now back to normal and all issues were expected to be resolved by noon. The ministry is closely monitoring airport and airline operations to ensure smooth travel adjustments and refunds.

The IT crash, caused by an antivirus program update, affected airlines, banks, TV channels, and financial institutions. Microsoft and cybersecurity software provider CrowdStrike identified the issue which began on Thursday, impacting Windows users. CrowdStrike rolled out a fix for the problem, with CEO George Kurtz apologizing for the disruption caused.

The global outage led to significant disruptions across various sectors, highlighting the importance of robust IT infrastructure and cybersecurity measures.
