Leavitt’s Noah Carpenter Named Varsity Maine’s Male Athlete of the Year


Noah Carpenter, the quarterback for Leavitt High School, has been named the Varsity Maine Male Athlete of the Year for the 2023-24 season. Carpenter had an exceptional senior year leading his team to a repeat of the Class C football championship and excelling on the baseball diamond as well. He won the James J. Fitzpatrick Trophy and was named Varsity Maine Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Carpenter’s exceptional performances in both sports earned him the prestigious title of Male Athlete of the Year.

Throughout the season, Carpenter displayed his versatility and leadership on the field, contributing as a quarterback, safety, and kicker for the Hornets. He completed 63% of his passes for 1,801 yards and 21 touchdowns, while also running for 1,351 yards and 23 scores. In addition, he intercepted five passes, forced four fumbles, and made 110 tackles on defense. Carpenter also showcased his skills on the baseball field with a .396 batting average, four home runs, and a 1.29 ERA as a pitcher.

Carpenter’s standout performances were crucial in Leavitt’s undefeated season, culminating in a dominant 71-12 victory over Oceanside in the Class C football final. His ability to rise to the occasion in crucial moments helped the Hornets secure key wins throughout the season. Carpenter’s dedication to both football and baseball has earned him a scholarship to the University of Maine, where he will continue to pursue his athletic dreams. With his all-around talent and exceptional leadership, Carpenter has solidified his place as one of Maine’s top high school athletes.
