Artist Andy Curran will be featured in the “Woodlands to the Sea: Paintings of Maine” exhibit at Monkitree in Gardiner. The artist reception is scheduled for July 26, and the exhibit will run through August 24. Curran, known for his slow and thoughtful painting process, draws inspiration from the natural beauty of Maine, particularly its woods and waters. His paintings, created using acrylic on canvas and wooden panels, aim to capture the essence of a specific place while invoking a universal sense of landscape. Curran, who also designs cards under the name Dog Star Creations, works from his home studio in Buxton and a summer studio in Palermo. The rural settings provide a connection to the pastoral and coastal landscapes of Maine that serve as inspiration for his art. Visitors can explore Curran’s paintings at the exhibit and learn more about his creative process.
