August 10th Kayak Fishing Excursion Planned on the Kennebec River


A kayak float fishing trip down the Kennebec River is scheduled for Saturday, August 10th at 8:30 a.m. This trip is specifically for veterans, active military personnel, law enforcement, and first responders. The event will take participants on a guided day of fishing on Great Moose Lake. Interested individuals can contact Paul Violette at peviolette@tds.net to sign up. Participants are required to have a valid Maine fishing license and should bring their own gear including a kayak, floating vest, fishing tackle, lunch, sunscreen, and hat.

The trip will last approximately four to five hours from Waterville to Sidney, with transportation back to the launch site provided. Those who are interested in a morning of blueberry picking can also contact Violette. The picking will take place at Pine Grove Lodge in Pleasant Ridge, with transportation provided to and from the Blueberry Farm. Lunch will be provided, and the program will cover the cost of the berries picked.
