Celebration of Land Conservation Event to be Hosted by Kennebec Land Trust

The Kennebec Land Trust is gearing up to celebrate another successful year of land conservation in the Kennebec River and Lakes Region. The event will span three days, offering opportunities to learn about recent conservation achievements, trail upgrades, and upcoming projects while connecting with KLT staff, board members, and supporters.

The festivities kick off with a Mount Pisgah hike on August 12, followed by a Howard Hill Hike on August 13. The highlight of the celebration is the annual meeting on August 14 at Absolem Cider Company in Winthrop, featuring updates on conservation accomplishments, 2024 summer intern research projects, and the chance to mingle with KLT friends. A suggested donation of $15 (free for children under 12) includes a meal from a food truck, with beverages available for purchase.

During the meeting, the KLT will honor land donors Doug DeAngelis, Jim and Jane Brogan, and Dian White for their contributions to land conservation in areas including Readfield, Fayette, and Litchfield. To RSVP for the event, interested parties can call 207-377-2848 by August 5.

This annual gathering serves as a way to recognize the efforts and achievements of the Kennebec Land Trust in preserving and protecting valuable natural spaces in the region. For more information and to stay updated on upcoming events, visit tklt.org.
