Former RHOC Star Vicki Gunvalson Facing Lawsuit for Allegations of Financial Elder Abuse

Former Real Housewives of Orange County star, Vicki Gunvalson, is facing a lawsuit from a former client of her insurance company for financial elder abuse, negligence, and fraud. Diane Field, who is 74 years old, alleges that Gunvalson and her business partner, Ali Hashemian, convinced her to invest in a life insurance policy without fully disclosing the costs involved, leading her to pay a total of $600,000 towards the policy. Field claims that the pair took advantage of her vulnerable state while she was caring for her ailing husband, who eventually passed away. Gunvalson and Hashemian then allegedly persuaded her to transfer her husband’s funds into another investment, further tying up her money.

The lawsuit accuses Gunvalson and Hashemian of engaging in a pattern of elder financial abuse, misrepresentation, and fraudulent sales tactics. The legal battle comes after another former client of Gunvalson sued her in 2019 for raising premium costs. Gunvalson’s former co-star, Teddi Mellencamp, also commented on the lawsuit, referencing an iconic line from the show to mock Gunvalson.

Field’s lawsuit highlights the importance of transparency and honesty in financial dealings, especially when dealing with vulnerable populations. Gunvalson, Hashemian, and their insurance company, Coto Insurance & Financial Services, have not yet publicly commented on the allegations. The lawsuit serves as a cautionary tale for individuals seeking financial advice and underscores the need for due diligence and thorough research before making investment decisions.
