The Nobleboro Historical Society will be holding a drawing for the 2024 Fish Ladder Raffle Quilt on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. The quilt, created by Betty Lu Brydges, will be raffled off with proceeds going towards the Fish Ladder Restoration project. Tickets can be purchased at Skidompha Library in Damariscotta, where the quilt is currently on display. The deadline to purchase tickets is 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23. This is the fifth quilt that Brydges has created and donated to the project, which supports the maintenance of the fish pools and walkways at the site. The Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder Restoration Project has been a community-based effort in collaboration with the towns of Nobleboro, Newcastle, and the Nobleboro Historical Society. Tickets can be purchased online at damariscottamills.org, and for more information, individuals can contact David Brydges at 207-832-1790. The project has been ongoing for the past 20 years, with the fish pools being rebuilt and further improvements needed. This raffle is just one of many events happening in the area, so be sure to check out other upcoming events as well.
