Elizabeth C. Furlong, a beloved member of the Richmond community, passed away on August 19, 2024, at the age of 78. Born in 1946 to Bernard and Carmen Thyng, Elizabeth was deeply involved in her church and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, participating in church activities, singing, and being outdoors. She worked for many years as a bus driver and custodian at SAD 75 in Topsham before retiring.
Elizabeth is survived by her son James Ross, daughter Gayle Ross, sisters Ann Babb and Barbara Greenlaw, granddaughters Kassandra and Makayla Ross, grandson Dylan Calden, and nephew Peter Babb. She was predeceased by her parents and grandson Nicholas.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Kincer Funeral Home in Richmond, Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice House in Auburn.
Elizabeth’s passing is a loss to the community, as she was known for her kind spirit and dedication to her family and church. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and she will be dearly missed. The funeral arrangements are under the care of Kincer Funeral Home in Richmond.
