A man identified as Dustin Hutchinson, 41, from Ellsworth was seriously injured in a crash that occurred on Wednesday evening. Hutchinson was reportedly speeding in a 2005 GMC pickup truck on Winkumpaugh Road around 6:09 p.m. when the crash took place. Emergency responders had to use extrication equipment to free Hutchinson from the wreck, according to the Ellsworth Police Department.
Hutchinson was airlifted to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit due to internal injuries. The crash is currently under investigation by authorities.
