MaineHealth has announced the rebranding of its emergency medical services, with NorthStar EMS and Paramedic Alliance for Community Emergencies now known as MaineHealth Emergency Medical Services. The consolidation aims to deliver emergency care under a unified brand while maintaining high-quality services in the communities they serve.
NorthStar EMS, based at MaineHealth Franklin Hospital, covers 1.7 million acres with 75 EMTs and paramedics handling around 7,500 calls annually. Services include community paramedicine programs and collaborations with local organizations to enhance emergency response capabilities.
Meanwhile, PACE, affiliated with MaineHealth Stephens Hospital, provides reliable emergency care to several Maine communities with 24/7 coverage year-round. Their team focuses on community activities, resource stewardship, and excellent patient care.
The rebranding, part of MaineHealth’s strategy to unify its identity, signifies a streamlined approach to emergency services delivery without disrupting current services. Residents are encouraged to continue calling 911 for emergencies as MaineHealth EMS continues to provide high-quality care and support to the communities they serve. The new branding aims to simplify patient interactions and enhance recognition of MaineHealth’s care services.
The name change to MaineHealth EMS also highlights the organization’s commitment to delivering consistent, high-level emergency care across its system. This move is a step towards enhancing the organization’s visibility and reputation as a trusted provider of emergency medical services in the region.
