Reece Walsh, the Maroons fullback, is determined not to hold back in his return to the field after suffering a concussion in Origin I. He sat out two rounds for the Broncos due to the concussion protocol, but is now ready to play in the upcoming interstate showdown. Walsh believes representing Queensland is an honor that requires putting his body on the line for his state.
Walsh has no hard feelings towards Joseph Sua’ali’i, who was involved in the incident that caused his concussion. He is only concerned about his daughter remembering the incident. Walsh is grateful for his teammates who secured a victory in his absence and he is eager to play alongside them again. He had to convince coach Billy Slater to let him back in the team after Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow performed exceptionally well in his place.
Walsh is excited to play alongside Tabuai-Fidow, noting his impressive performance in the previous game. He values Tabuai-Fidow’s speed and skills and believes they can complement each other on the field. Walsh is confident in their abilities to contribute to a successful Maroons team. The young fullback is determined to give his all for Queensland and help secure a third-straight series win.
