Lt-Colonel Wasawat Mookarasakul, also known as “Inspector Sua,” has been suspended from duty pending an investigation by the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) following allegations of involvement in online gambling and money laundering. Chuwit Kamolvisit, a former politician, accused Wasawat of having stakes in multiple companies used for illegal activities. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has promised a meticulous and legally compliant investigation into the matter. Chuwit claims that Wasawat’s business interests include various companies involved in money laundering, entertainment, and healthcare. The CIB chief, Pol Lt-General Jirabhop Bhuridej, has formed a team to investigate and gather evidence. Chuwit’s role in exposing the alleged wrongdoing by “Inspector Sua” has raised questions about his motives and credibility. Despite his claims, it remains to be seen if Chuwit’s information will lead to any substantial legal action against those involved. The situation has drawn attention to the complexities of investigating corruption and illicit activities within the police force in Thailand.
