On January 4, 2007, a fateful call led Amy Calder and her husband to adopt two kittens from a friend in need. The kittens, named Bitsy and Pip, quickly became beloved members of the family. However, tragedy struck when Pip passed away from cancer in 2016. Despite their grief, Bitsy thrived as the queen bee of the household and eventually welcomed a new companion, Thurston, into their home.
As the years went by, Bitsy was diagnosed with kidney disease and her health began to decline. The family did everything they could to care for her, but sadly, Bitsy passed away on August 21, just weeks before her 18th birthday. The loss of Bitsy has left a void in Amy and Phil’s lives, as well as Thurston, who still looks for his beloved companion.
While the pain of losing a cherished pet is immense, Amy finds comfort in the memories of Bitsy, Pip, and their other cat Chloe, who have now passed on. As they navigate through their grief, Amy reflects on the joy and love that their pets brought into their lives and the lasting impact they had as part of their family.
Despite the heartache of losing Bitsy, Amy and Phil are grateful for the time they had with her and the special bond they shared. As they mourn the loss of their beloved feline friend, they know that time will heal their wounds and they will always carry Bitsy’s memory in their hearts.
