Harris Stands Firm on Israel-Gaza, US Border, and Fracking in CNN Interview; Walz Brushes Off Republican Criticisms – Live Coverage of US Elections 2024

Kamala Harris has accused Donald Trump of killing a bipartisan border bill earlier this year for political gain, during an interview with CNN. Harris avoided questions about the delay in implementing asylum instructions, instead blaming Trump for hindering progress on immigration reform. Trump, meanwhile, at a town hall event in Wisconsin, repeated his usual talking points on immigration and the economy, blaming immigrants for lack of job opportunities for young people. Former Democratic congressperson Tulsi Gabbard, now a Trump campaign surrogate, also shared her emotional experience with in vitro fertilization at the event.

Harris also addressed her support for Israel’s defense in the Gaza conflict and mentioned her openness to appointing a Republican to her cabinet if elected. She did not express any policy differences from Biden on these issues. Additionally, Tim Walz, in a separate CNN interview, clarified his military record and his family’s experience with infertility treatments.

Trump, on the other hand, asked a federal court to intervene in his hush-money criminal case, seeking to overturn his conviction and delay his sentencing. This move is seen as another attempt by Trump to avoid legal consequences and potentially interfere in the upcoming elections. Overall, these latest developments highlight the ongoing political tensions and debates around immigration, reproductive rights, and legal challenges facing the current and potential future administrations.
