The Portland Sea Dogs bounced back from a four-game losing streak with an impressive 8-0 win over the Harrisburg Senators in the Eastern League. Jacob Webb, Wikelman Gonzalez, and Zach Bryant combined for a five-hitter on the mound, while Jhostynxon Garcia, Allan Castro, and Alex Binelas shined at the plate with two RBIs each. Gonzalez, who came in relief of Webb, earned the win after allowing just one hit over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Garcia and Mikey Romero both had strong performances, going 3 for 5 with two runs scored each. Binelas sealed the victory with a two-run homer in the eighth inning.
Despite the win, Portland’s lead in the Northeast Division was slightly reduced to 1 1/2 games over the Somerset Patriots, who extended their winning streak to five games with a doubleheader sweep. The Sea Dogs will look to maintain their lead in the division as they continue their series in Harrisburg.
