The University of Maine Cooperative Extension is hosting a two-part online informational session for adults interested in becoming Maine 4-H volunteers. The Start Your 4-H Volunteer Journey program will take place on Sept. 18 and 25 from 6-7 p.m. Participants will learn about the UMaine Extension 4-H youth development program, engage in e-Learning modules, and explore the key aspects of positive youth development. They will also be introduced to the ages and stages of youth.
The sessions will conclude with information on next steps and guidance on the application process. 4-H volunteers play a vital role as mentors, advisors, friends, and more, positively impacting the lives of children and helping them develop important skills and a positive self-image.
Interested individuals can register for the free informational sessions at extension.umaine.edu. For more information or to request accommodations, contact Jennifer Lobley at jennifer.lobley@maine.edu or 207-255-3345.
This opportunity provides a chance for adults to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people in Maine while gaining a sense of accomplishment and personal fulfillment. Don’t miss out on this chance to become a 4-H volunteer and contribute to the development of youth in the community.
