Israeli forces have killed at least four Palestinians in the West Bank during their largest military operation in the territory since the early 2000s. The deaths occurred in Tulkarem and the Far’a refugee camp, with casualties from both drone attacks and sniper fire. The total death toll from the operation now stands at 50.
In addition to the fatalities, hundreds have been displaced and infrastructure has been severely damaged in the northern governorates of Tulkarem, Tubas, and Jenin. The UN reports that in Jenin alone, at least 21 Palestinians were killed, and 1,000 families were displaced. Israeli forces have destroyed roads, water, and sewage networks in these areas, affecting access to essential services for tens of thousands of residents.
The destruction caused by Israeli forces has also impacted the Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps, where 12 people have been killed, and hundreds remain displaced. Water and sewage networks in these camps have been destroyed, leaving thousands without access to clean water and causing sewage overflows.
Meanwhile, Israeli military operations continue in the West Bank, with reports of a ramming attack east of Ramallah resulting in the death of an Israeli soldier. The condition of the suspected assailant is unclear.
The conflict in the West Bank has resulted in a significant loss of life and infrastructure damage, with humanitarian agencies calling for an end to the violence to prevent further suffering for the Palestinian population.
