Rafael Devers, Red Sox third baseman, anticipates full recovery for spring training without surgery

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers will be missing the rest of the season due to left shoulder inflammation. Despite the setback, Devers confirmed that surgery will not be necessary and he is hopeful to be ready for spring training. His shoulder issues had been bothering him since spring training, but the 28-year-old player remains optimistic about his recovery.

Devers, who signed a 10-year contract with the Red Sox earlier this year for $313.5 million, had a productive season, batting .272 with 28 home runs and 83 RBI in 138 games. Despite leading AL third basemen in errors, Devers expressed gratitude that his shoulder injury was not more serious and is focused on preparing for next year.

After leaving Friday night’s game against the Minnesota Twins, Devers is currently on the 10-day injured list. He plans to work on a recovery program for his shoulders in the Dominican Republic before returning to the team. Devers believes he will be back at full strength for spring training and is looking forward to a successful comeback.

Devers’ absence is a loss for the Red Sox, but the team remains optimistic about his recovery and return to the field. In the meantime, the Red Sox will continue to play without their star third baseman and wish him a speedy recovery.
