University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H is offering a 3-part virtual series on climate change action for youth aged 12-18. The sessions will take place on Mondays, Oct. 28, Nov. 4, and Nov. 11 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. via Zoom.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about climate change from both global and local perspectives, as well as explore ways in which they can take individual action to make a difference. The series will involve hands-on, minds-on learning to help unpack this complex topic.
The series will be led by 4-H staff along with an international graduate student specializing in climate and public policy. While participation is free, donations are accepted to support the program. Those interested can learn more or register by visiting the event webpage at https://extension.umaine.edu/4h/virtual-learning-hub/open-registrations/.
For additional information or to request a reasonable accommodation, individuals can contact 207-581-8206 or email sarah.sparks@maine.edu.
This virtual series offers a valuable opportunity for young people to engage with the important issue of climate change and explore ways in which they can contribute to positive change. By participating in these sessions, youth can gain a deeper understanding of the climate crisis and empower themselves to take meaningful action towards a more sustainable future.
