Weather officials predict the rains may not end until Sunday, blaming a low-pressure system over parts of neighboring India. The Koshi River, which often causes deadly floods in India’s Bihar state, is running above the danger level in Nepal. Experts attribute the increasing frequency and intensity of rain-related disasters to climate change, with more than 170 people already killed this year. The devastating floods and landslides are a reminder of the annual challenges faced by Nepal during the monsoon season.
