Madison Girls Soccer Team Blanks Dirigo 8-0
The Madison girls soccer team dominated Dirigo in an 8-0 victory, with Mackenzie Robbins leading the charge with three goals and an assist. Raegan Cowan also had a strong performance, scoring two goals and assisting, while Jillian Linkletter, Ella Haynie, and Jaelyn Lenko each added a goal for Madison. Goalkeeper Allison Tuscan made three saves to secure the shutout win for Madison, bringing their record to a perfect 8-0. Dirigo, on the other hand, fell to 2-3-1 after the loss.
In another exciting game, the Mt. Blue field hockey team secured a convincing 9-0 win over Poland. Five players scored for Mt. Blue, with Morgan Hersey leading the way with three goals and an assist. Kali Judkins added two goals and an assist, while Grace Allen scored twice as well. Avery Tinker and Piper Wojcik also found the back of the net for Mt. Blue. The team displayed strong teamwork with seven players recording assists, including Ivey Rackliffe, Summer Sawyer, Lily Huntley, Bree Griffin, and Abbi Donald. Despite Poland’s goalkeeper Isabella Lizotte making 17 saves, Mt. Blue’s offensive firepower proved to be too much for them to handle. This win improved Mt. Blue’s record to 4-2, while Poland dropped to 1-7 after the loss.
