Pang Sua Pond in Bukit Panjang serves both practical and recreational purposes, combining stormwater management with community enjoyment. Originally built in the 1990s as a stormwater collection pond, it underwent a revamp in 2017. The revamped pond features a large floating wetland, a wellness centre, and a boardwalk connecting the neighbourhood blocks and the community centre.
The water collected at Pang Sua Pond is pumped to Upper Seletar Reservoir for treatment and storage. Besides its functionality, the pond also offers recreational facilities such as the 3G Wellness Centre, a boardwalk, a performance stage, and lookout decks. The pond is part of PUB’s Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters Programme and has been beautified with flowering plants on the floating wetlands.
Throughout the years, Pang Sua Pond has been the site of festive light-ups, bringing cheer to the community during occasions such as Hari Raya and the Mid-Autumn Festival. The pond has become a focal point in the community, attracting visitors with its vibrant decorations and festive atmosphere.
Located next to Senja-Cashew Community Centre in Bukit Panjang, Pang Sua Pond has become a popular spot for residents and visitors to enjoy nature and community activities. With its combination of functionality, beauty, and community engagement, Pang Sua Pond stands out as a successful example of integrating stormwater management with recreational spaces in urban areas.
