The University of Maine at Augusta’s Military and Veterans’ Services will be hosting a presentation of the veteran’s edition of “Voices of Hope” on Sunday, Dec. 8. The event, which will be held in the Farber Forum at Jewett Hall, will feature a screening of the film followed by an open discussion on recovery and resources facilitated by Ed Walsh, a retired U.S. Army veteran and UMA alum. The goal of the event is to provide a supportive environment and be a catalyst for positive change, showcasing stories of triumph over adversity and emphasizing the importance of support and determination in overcoming challenges.
“Voices of Hope: The Rugged Road to Recovery” is a part of a series created by SEED that highlights the experiences of Maine veterans who have faced great trauma but have found ways to overcome their struggles and help others in the process. The event is open to all and free of charge, with light refreshments provided. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with inspiring stories of resilience and empowerment and learn about the resources available for those in need of support.
For more information about the event, contact Amy Line, Director of Military and Veterans’ Services at 207-621-3215 or amy.line@maine.edu. This event is just one of many upcoming events in the area that aim to provide support and resources for veterans and others in need.
