Thanksgiving Storm Expected to Bring Significant Rain and Snowfall to Maine, Resulting in Travel Delays

Maine is set to experience its first significant snowstorm of the season just in time for Thanksgiving, with messy and slippery travel conditions expected for much of the state on Thursday evening and night. The storm will bring rain to the coastline and a mix of rain and snow inland, with the heaviest and worst travel expected between 1PM and 8PM. Snowfall amounts will range from a coating to 2 inches along the coast to 6-10 inches in the mountains.

The storm is expected to begin between 9AM and Noon on Thursday and will wrap up by midnight, with Friday looking much better in terms of weather conditions. Rain totals along the coastline are expected to range between 1.00″ and 1.25″. Cooler weather will follow the storm, with highs in the low 40s and breezy conditions on Friday.

By the weekend, calmer yet cooler conditions are expected, with clear skies and high temperatures remaining in the low 40s. Mid-winter cold temperatures are forecasted for late in the weekend and through next week.
