Fairfield Mourns the Loss of Local Craftsman Daniel J. Carey

Fairfield is mourning the loss of Daniel J. Carey, a beloved member of the community who passed away at the age of 77. Born and raised in Waterville, Daniel grew up in Fairfield Center and attended local schools before enlisting in the Navy. He was known for his skill as an autobody man and his passion for woodworking, particularly in making cabinets. Daniel was a member of the local archery club and received numerous accolades for his craftsmanship.

Daniel’s parents, William and Marie Ann Carey, have predeceased him. He is survived by his sister, Valerie Tibbetts, and his children, Angela and Shawn. A graveside service will be held on December 10, 2024, at noon at the Niche Wall in the Veteran Cemetery in Augusta.

Daniel will be remembered by friends and family for his dedication to his craft and his warm demeanor. He leaves behind a legacy of excellence in autobody work and woodworking, and his presence in the community will be greatly missed. Fairfield is honoring his memory and sending condolences to his loved ones during this difficult time.
