New South Wales Blues coach Michael Maguire has announced his squad for Game Two of the Ampol State of Origin series, with Latrell Mitchell returning to the team after a year’s absence to replace the suspended Joseph Sua’ali’i. Mitchell is joined by new faces Connor Watson, Dylan Edwards, Mitchell Moses, and Cameron Murray as the Blues aim to even the series at 1-1. Watson will debut in place of Hudson Young, while Murray replaces Cameron McInnes. Moses and Edwards come in for Nicho Hynes and James Tedesco. Mitchell last played for the Blues in 2021 when they won the series.
Moses was unavailable for Game One due to a foot injury, but is now fit to play. Edwards missed Game One due to a quad strain, but will make his Origin debut in Game Two. The Blues will start their training camp in Sydney before moving to Katoomba for preparations ahead of the game in Melbourne. The Queensland Maroons will announce their squad on Monday morning. The Blues are looking to bounce back from a Game One defeat and level the series against their arch-rivals.
