ArtsFarmington is hosting their next program, “Unbought,” on February 22nd at the Emery Community Arts Center, followed by a reception at the North Church in Farmington. The event coincides with Black History Month in February and Women’s History Month in March, making it especially relevant. “Unbought” showcases the stories of three Black women, including Ida B. Wells, Sally Hemings, and Shirley Chisholm, portrayed by Tiffany Terrell. The title of the show is inspired by Chisholm’s memoir, “Unbought and Unbossed,” and features a musical score with works by Black composers played by a cellist, pianist, and percussionist. Admission is $20, with free entry for UMF students and children through the Arts Inspire Youth program. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Don’t miss this unique and timely event celebrating the achievements and stories of Black women in history. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit artsfarmington.org.
