Rich Dana White invests $500 million to buy his childhood street in Maine, revealing emotional connection to the area: “That’s why I wanted to invest so much” | MMA News

UFC President Dana White recently shared a heartwarming story about his connection to Levant, Maine, where he spent summers with his grandparents during his childhood. Despite growing up in Connecticut, White’s love for the area remained strong over the years. In a recent interview with the Bangor Daily News, White disclosed that he purchased the entire street where his grandparents lived as a way to preserve his cherished memories.

With a fortune of $500 million, White’s investment in buying multiple homes along Phillips Road in Levant showcases his deep emotional attachment to the region. He explained, “My time up there meant so much to me, and I loved the place so much that I bought up the whole street that my grandmother and grandfather live on.” Not only did he acquire these properties, but he also donated them to the Levant Fire Department for controlled burns as part of their training exercises.

Lieutenant Wyatt Morrison of the Levant Fire Department confirmed that some of the houses were burned down for training purposes. Despite parting with certain properties, White still owns a significant amount of land in the area, including nine homes totaling 60 acres on Phillips Road. He expressed his commitment to continue purchasing more land in the future, ensuring that his children can experience the same sense of belonging he feels towards Levant.

White’s contributions to the community extend beyond real estate investments, as he donated $100,000 to his alma mater, Hermon High School, for athletic upgrades in 2011. Additionally, he brought a UFC Fight Night event to Bangor in 2014, showcasing his dedication to supporting the local area. As White continues to invest in Levant, his Fourth of July celebrations with family have become a cherished tradition, highlighting the enduring bond he shares with the place where his childhood memories were made.
