President Donald Trump has taken a decisive step in response to Maine Governor Janet Mills’ opposition to his executive order protecting women’s sports from transgender intrusion. Trump has halted funding for research and programs at the University of Maine System, a network of eight public colleges in the state. Laurel Libby has filed a federal lawsuit against Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau for censuring her after she raised concerns about a biological male student competing against girls in sports.
Libby, who is fighting for fair competition in girls’ sports, stated that “biological males have no place in girls sports” and emphasized the importance of upholding federal laws to ensure equal opportunities for female athletes.
