Kaden Kilger of the University of Maine made a splash at the 2025 CSCAA National Invitational Championship, breaking a school-record in the 1000-yard freestyle event with a time of 9:36.24. Cam Watelet also had a strong showing, placing 17th in the 50-yard backstroke and 26th in the 50-yard freestyle. The team of Julian LaPietra, Finn Devers, Kilger, and Joey Stauss placed 19th in the 200-yard freestyle relay, while Maine’s 400-yard medley relay team came in 24th. Despite narrowly missing out on the final in the 50-yard butterfly event, Stauss impressed with a time of 21.94. Nate Teerlinck finished 35th in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 26.06. The University of Maine is proud of their swimmers’ performances and looks forward to the rest of the competition.
