Search Intensifies for Missing New Sweden Teen Stefanie Damron
More than 50 law enforcement and rescue personnel are actively searching for 14-year-old Stefanie Damron, who has been missing since September 24, 2024, from New Sweden, Maine. The renewed search effort, which commenced on Friday, draws on the expertise of the FBI, Maine State Police, the Maine Warden Service, and volunteers from various search and rescue organizations.
Officials reported that the search team of 57 members has been tirelessly scouring the area over the weekend, looking for any signs of Damron. According to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety, this intensified search was not motivated by new leads but was a result of improved conditions for searching the terrain.
Maine State Police confirmed via a Facebook post late Saturday that searchers are committed to covering as much ground as possible in hopes of finding the missing teen. Damron is described as standing 5 feet tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds, with green eyes and shoulder-length brown hair. At the time of her disappearance, she was last seen wearing blue jeans, a long-sleeve blue shirt, and black Harley-Davidson hiking boots.
In a bid to gather information, the FBI is offering a reward of $15,000 for any leads that could help in locating Damron or in apprehending those responsible for her disappearance.
