UMF to Celebrate Commencement with Distinguished Speaker
The University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) is set to host its 2025 commencement ceremony at Dearborn Gym on Saturday, featuring two separate ceremonies at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. This year’s notable commencement speaker will be Dr. Nirav Dinesh Shah, the former principal deputy director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Dr. Shah’s extensive experience in public health and leadership during critical times promises to inspire graduates as they embark on their next chapter. As the commencement activities unfold, families and friends are encouraged to join in the celebration either in person or through a livestream available on the UMF website.
The university anticipates a heartfelt gathering to honor the achievements of its graduating class, acknowledging the hard work and dedication that led to this momentous occasion. The commencement ceremonies not only represent the culmination of years of academic effort but also serve as a platform for graduates to reflect on their experiences and future aspirations.
As the event approaches, attendees are reminded to follow any health guidelines in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable ceremony for all participants. Whether graduating students are entering the workforce, pursuing further education, or embarking on new adventures, the spirit of accomplishment will be palpable in the air on this significant day.
UMF is proud to celebrate the achievements of its students and looks forward to a memorable commencement filled with pride, joy, and inspiration. Graduates and their families are encouraged to tune in to the livestream to share in the festivities if unable to attend in person.
