Russian shelling in Ukraine resulted in the deaths of at least four civilians on Saturday, according to officials. In the northeastern Sumy region, a 14-year-old boy was killed and 12 others were wounded in a rocket attack on the town of Hlukhiv, near the Russian border. The attack targeted residential areas and injured six children. In Kharkiv region, another area frequently hit by Russian attacks, one person was killed in a private home in Chuhuiv. Additionally, two people were killed in Kherson region in Ukraine’s south. Kherson was initially occupied by Russian forces in February 2022, but Ukrainian troops managed to recapture parts of the region. Russian troops continue to shell Ukrainian-held areas from new positions. Reuters was unable to independently verify the reports, and there was no comment from Russian officials on the incidents. The ongoing violence in Ukraine continues to take a toll on civilians, highlighting the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
