A Pop Star Learned to Fish Thanks to This Maine Guide

Taylor Dayne, famous pop singer, was among a group of women celebrating a 60th birthday in Bar Harbor who took their first fly fishing lesson in terrible weather conditions. Despite the rain and cold, the women were eager to learn and practice casting before heading to Bubble Pond for some fishing. As they tried their new skills, they were thrilled to see a man catch a brook trout nearby.

The lesson was facilitated by Catherine Gordon, a Registered Maine Guide who has a passion for sharing the beauty of nature with others. Gordon, who herself grew up in Bar Harbor, has been working as a guide for several years and enjoys the opportunity to meet new people and create lifelong memories.

The group, including Dayne, who has sold millions of albums worldwide, bonded over their fishing experience and decided to extend their time together with a nature hike and a fun dinner the following day. Gordon was grateful to have the opportunity to show her guests the beauty of Acadia National Park and the wonders of Maine.

This experience exemplifies the joy of guiding, where unexpected encounters and incredible adventures are commonplace. Gordon cherishes the moments she spends with guests who often become friends, and looks forward to many more rewarding experiences in the future.
