Two men, Danny Sua and Tony Tautua, have been charged after police seized nearly 300 kilograms of methylamphetamine (ice) worth nearly $87 million in a major drug bust in Sydney. Mr. Tautua was arrested during a vehicle stop in Kingswood where police found 41 kilograms of ice in resealable bags stashed in plastic tubs in a Toyota Hi Ace van. Mr. Sua was arrested during a separate vehicle stop in Kingswood where police seized mobile phones and electronic devices from a VW Amarok ute. Following further inquiries, police executed search warrants at homes in Kingswood and Woy Woy where they found 248 kilograms of ice in 13 large tubs in a shed at the Kingswood home and nearly $300,000 cash, mobile phones, and designer watches at the Woy Woy home. Both men did not apply for bail and appeared in Penrith Local Court. The men have been charged with drug-related offenses. The arrests were part of a joint operation between NSW Police and the Australian Federal Police focused on organized crime. The successful operation resulted in a significant seizure of drugs, cash, and other items related to the drug trade.
